7.45pm: Cheese & Wine Reception at Corofin Community Hall. Sponsored by Minihane’s Centra.
8.20pm: Official Festival Opening by Kevin Callinan. Corofin Community Hall.
8.30pm: History Talk. Cumann Staire is Dúchais Chora Finne host a free lecture on ’The Irish Experience of Immigration’ by Kevin Callinan, Fórsa General Secretary and former President of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and whose father Patrick was a Corofin native. Corofin Community Hall.
Fri. May 3rd
3.00pm: Flora & Fauna of The Burren. A free presentation at Morning Dew Café with Phoebe Larkin, Burren National Park.
6.00pm: Free Open-Air Ska Session with top band Skazz at Bofey’s Beer Garden. You saw them at the February Jam Fest. Now they’re back for more!
9.00pm: Festival Social Dancing with Micheál Sexton at Corofin Hall. Polish up your dancing shoes. It’s going to be mega! €10pp.
Evening: Pub Entertainment. Check out the entertainment in the local pubs.
Sat. May 4th
10.30am: Burren Ramble with Marie. Enjoy a relaxing walk through part of the Burren National Park with guide Marie McGauran. Meet at The Hall. Fee €10pp.
12.00 noon: Car Treasure Hunt. A fun event for families, groups of friends or on your own! Allow two hours to complete. €10 per car. Prizes for first three winners. Start from The Hall. Sponsor: Shannon Trophies.
2.00pm: Free Paper Puppet Workshop at Morning Dew Café. Turn painting and paper into moving puppets, with Laurie, Materials provided. Supported by Creative Ireland.
4.00pm: Boogie in the Beer Garden. Come along and enjoy the free outdoor live gig with Cahercalla Rebellion, the best young band around, at O’Riain’s Beer Garden. Enjoy a right lively session. Outside, weather permitting.
9.00pm: The Salmon of Knowledge Table Quiz at Mike Hogan’s Bar. Teams of 4 €40. Great Fun! Quizmaster: Ger Kennedy Sponsor: Shannon Trophies. Part of proceeds to James Organ’s Meningitis Foundation Fundraiser.
Evening: Pub Entertainment. Check out the Saturday night action in the local pubs.
Sun. May 5th
10.00am: Festival Village Market at Corofin Community Hall with loads of stands and lots of choice. Home bakes, crafts, fruit & veg, bric a brac, Treats, jewellery, flowers & plants etc. We’d love to see you all there!
12.00 noon: Children’s Entertainment at GAA Sports Hall with Tony Baloney & Leroy the talking dog! One of Ireland’s top kids entertainers. Magic, comedy, ventriloquism & more. €5 per child. Adults in the background free.
1.00pm: Frisbee Golf is great fun and suitable for all ages. Find it at the Community Field! Why not get along and give it a go?
2.00pm: Free Mascot-Building at Morning Dew Café. Help create CinnaMan & Decaf his devious dog for the festival parade. Materials supplied. Supported by Creative Ireland.
3.00pm – 5.00pm: Hang Tough Competition at O’Riain’s beer garden.
4.00pm: Annual World Stone Throwing Championships. Corofin hosts the 23rd world series at Bofeys Quinn’s Beer Garden. World titles for men and ladies to be contested so make sure you have a go. €5 entry per contestant. Re-entry allowed and encouraged!! All proceeds to Corofin Christmas Lights Fund.(info)
8.00pm: Super Folk Concert at the Teach Ceoil featuring Trevor Sexton & Ger O’Donnell. €20 (plus booking fee) via www.eventbrite.ie. Not to be missed!!
Evening: Pub Entertainment. The craic continues in all of the local pubs.
Mon. May 6th
9.45am: Guided Walk with Brendan McGrath by the shore of Lake Inchiquin taking in the grounds of Baunkyle House & Clifden House. Meet at The Grotto in Corofin. €10 pp.
12.30pm: Fancy Dress Parade. Theme: Superheroes, Supervillains and their devious pets?. Starts from the Hall at 12.30 sharp! Great prizes for most original float and fancy dress. Entry to fancy dress €2 per person and floats go free. €100 prize for this year’s best float. Sponsor: Cummins Tarmacadam.
1.30pm: Book Reading. ‘We Are Human Too’ with editor Ann Marie Flanagan at Corofin Hall. A Clare Leader Forum Production.
2.00pm: Lark at the Lake. Lake Inchiquin Amenity Area (weather permitting). A wonderful day for families, friends and visitors. €5 entry to fun & games, Animal Roadshow, open air music, and much more. Also BBQ, dog show, and horseshoe throwing, refreshments and market stalls.
9.00pm: Festival Raffle Draw & Closing Party at Bofey Quinn’s. Remember to get your raffle lines where you see them on sale during the festival. Thanks to all our volunteers and sponsors. Feel free to join us!
